Another busy day in the rugby union game as we have five outsiders for the Lions plus Johnny Sexton receives backing.

Scotland centre Chris Harris and Harlequins duo Danny Care and Marcus Smith are amongst the outsiders possibly set to get a call-up on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Leinster coach Stuart Lancaster believes that fly-half Sexton has done more than enough to be selected in the British and Irish Lions squad.

Sale Sharks boss Alex Sanderson is also backing his player as he feels that injured England centre Manu Tuilagi deserves to be in the Lions conversation.

Italy international fly-half Tommaso Allan has put pen to paper on a contract with Premiership side Harlequins, joining from Benetton from next season.

Elsewhere, former Edinburgh and Saints scrum-half Nic Groom has signed a deal to play for Premiership side London Irish until the end of this season.

Finally, the showpiece event in Australian domestic rugby will be shown on the World Rugby website when Reds take on the Brumbies at Suncorp Stadium.
