Woodward has revealed the timing from the RFU was ‘insensitive’ given the ongoing financial problems in the world, not least in the English game.
Speaking of which, Rugby Australia chief executive Raelene Castle has incredibly increased her pay cut to 65% as the issues in Australia continue.
Elsewhere, British & Irish Lions coach Warren Gatland has lauded South Africa boss Rassie Erasmus, saying he respects what he’s done with the Boks.

In the Premiership, Leicester Tigers have been busy as they announced the signing of three youngsters ahead of the 2020/21 season. They are centre Dan Kelly (Ireland U20 international) and second-rows Cameron Henderson (Scotland U20 international and Oliver Chessum, the latter joining from neighbours Nottingham.
Meanwhile, RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney has revealed that England could move their scheduled July tour to Japan to October due to the coronavirus outbreak.
