Rodda eager for game time

New Wallaby Izack Rodda is eager to get as much game time as possible following his international debut against the All Blacks last weekend.
The 21-year-old lock showed his intent to keep sharp by arriving for a non-compulsory skills and weights session with the Reds on Monday.
Rodda was given his debut in an incredibly challenging situation – when the world’s best team were at full-tilt in their 35-29 win in Dunedin.
He made an immediate impact when he grabbed a loose ball at a ruck. This began a move that resulted in Will Genia’s epic try.
“I was freakin’ nervous for sure before the game but when you get on it’s just about getting into the rugby,” Rodda told Fox Sports.
“It was an amazing experience and you definitely want more.”
Rodda’s mother Donna was flown to Dunedin by the Wallabies as a special treat for both of them on his Test debut.
He had not played rugby for six weeks as the Reds’ exited Super Rugby quite early. Saturday’s National Rugby Championship clash for Queensland Country against Canberra Vikings is perfect timing for Rodda to get much-needed game time before the Wallabies take on the Springboks in Perth on September 9.
