Edinburgh coach Andy Robinson insists he his happy in the capital but is refusing to rule out a future role with Scotland.

Robinson, who successfully coached England's forwards to the Webb Ellis trophy in 2003 is believed by former Scotland international John Beattie to be capable of improving Frank Hadden's side.

“I don't deal in hypotheticals, for me it's about the here and now, but you never say never,” said Robinson, speaking to BBC Sport.

“However, my focus is fully on Edinburgh at the moment, and that's what I'm enjoying doing.”

Robinson has enjoyed a thriving start to his Edinburgh career with the Scots sitting third in the Magners League.

Yet Beattie has spoken out that national coach Frank Hadden is frustrated his side are unable to maintain possession.

However, Robinson is extremely sympathetic as the Scotland coach endures the pressure of a losing start to the Six Nations.

“It's very tough and certainly the seven-week period is full of pressure,” he added.

“But it can also be a very enjoyable time.

“The Six Nations is an awesome tournament to be involved in.

“The next challenge will come around against Ireland, and I'm sure the squad will be looking forward to that.”
