Refs appointed for Super Rugby

SANZAR have announced the referee appointments for the first six rounds of the 2012 Super Rugby season.

Chris Pollock will kick off the season overseeing the opening Round One clash between the Blues and Crusaders at Eden Park on February 24.

Across in Canberra, Garrett Williamson will control the match between the Brumbies and Force to open the Australian Conference; while later that evening Jonathan Kaplan will officiate the match between the Bulls and Sharks in Pretoria to start the South African Conference.

This year sees five new referees introduced to Super Rugby – Mike Fraser (New Zealand), Angus Gardner and Andrew Lees (Australia) as well as Lourens van der Merwe and Stuart Berry (South Africa) who will enter the competition as the right time arrives.
