Defeat a ‘tough one to swallow’ for Glasgow boss

Glasgow Warriors head coach Danny Wilson has called for improved discipline following his side’s fifth PRO14 defeat of the new season.

Munster scored two late tries in their 27-13 win at Scotstoun on Monday after Ryan Wilson was yellow-carded with just two points between the teams.

The Warriors are suffering during the extended international period with 22 players unavailable, and experienced backs Tommy Seymour and Nick Grigg both went off injured.

But head coach Wilson believes there are simple ways of helping themselves ahead of Sunday’s trip to face Cardiff Blues.

“Munster are too good a side to let you off the hook,” he said on the Warriors website.

“We conceded too many penalties and they piggybacked off those.

A lot to learn

“We’ve got a lot to learn around that – the breakdown, discipline and game management are the three big areas we need to improve upon ahead of next week.

“Discipline cost us and we ended up with nothing, and that’s a tough one to swallow.”

Wilson, who praised his team’s desire and fight, added: “Cardiff will be another tough one for us. They left a few players out for their trip to Leinster this weekend that I imagine will come back in to face us, but we’ll be ready.

“We’ll lick our wounds, bounce back and come out fighting on Sunday.”
