Montpellier have made nine changes to their line-up that shocked Clermont last weekend, with Top 14 player of the year Francois Trinh-Duc benched.
Trinh-Duc, voted number one by his fellow French professionals, was a vital part of Montpol making their way to the domestic finale in 2010/11.
But he must settle for jersey 21 for Wednesday's rearranged fixture as they are obviously looking towards to Sunday's meeting with Perpignan.
Joining the fly-half on the pine will be scrum-half Benoit Paillaugue, who kicked nineteen points against Clermont, lock Thibaut Privat and wing Yoan Audrin while hooker Agustin Creevy, full-back Lucas Amorosino, prop Georgi Jgenti, centre Geoffrey Doumayrou and number eight Sakuisa Matadigo miss out completely.
Meanwhile, Lyon will be without ankle injury victim Philemon Toleafoa (tighthead prop) as they face up to their second Top 14 game of three in a week, having recently lost at Bayonne.
