Pivac rallies Scarlets support

Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac has called on his side's supporters to get behind the team ahead of the upcoming PRO14 season.

Scarlets kick off their 2017/18 PRO14 campaign against Southern Kings at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday.

The Scarlets will make their first appearance at the Parc since lifting the trophy back in May welcoming South African newcomers Southern Kings.

Speaking ahead of the campaign opener Pivac said; "Out here I can assure you the crowd really does lift the team and it's worth a few points to us. The bigger and the noisier the crowd the better it is for us.

"Having a good home record is important and it's really important for our fanbase, people like winning! It lifts people in the neighbourhood and in the community. I live locally in the community and I can tell you when we win it's a fantastic place to be. It's not so enjoyable when we don't so we try not to!

"We've had success at home, the boys enjoy playing at home, it's a really intimate stadium to play in and it's great."
