Phillips suffered facial injuries from the attack that occurred outside a Cardiff nightclub on Sunday 19 October.
At the time a club spokesman from the Ospreys said the crime had been reported to the South Wales Police, who have now said that Phillips doesn't wish to take the matter further.,
“The matter has now been reported to the police and we await the outcome of their investigations,” an Ospreys statement said at the time of the crime.
The inquiry however has now been dropped by police on the instruction of the 33-times capped Phillips.
“Due to the reporting person not wishing to proceed, there will be no further police action in relation to this matter,” a South Wales Police spokeswoman said.
