Peni adds to Force injury list

The Western Force’s injury woes continue as star winger Chance Peni has been ruled out for the rest of the Super Rugby season.

Peni sustained torn groin ligaments in the April 9 win over the Kings, according to skynewssport.au. The Force had a bye last weekend.

Peni’s injury adds to a lengthy list, which sees  Ben McCalman, Matt Phillips, Richie Arnold and Michael Ruru already sidelined for the Perth-based side.

The 23-year-old, who can also play at center but has featured on the wing this season, is the Force’s leading try-scorer in this year’s competition with three tries to his name and will be sorely missed.

Injury-plagued Skipper Ben McCalman is once again battling a shoulder injury and will also be a crucial miss for Saturday’s home clash with the Chiefs.
