Pau have moved to stand down star fly-half Colin Slade having suffered three knocks to the head dating back to August.

Slade recently extended his contract with the ambitious Top 14 club, where he plays alongside another former All Black in Conrad Smith.

Pau have opted to stand Slade down until the final games of the regular season, taking a “zero risk policy” on concussion with their players according to a statement on the club’s website on Thursday.

The club sit in fifth place heading into Round 22 of the Top 14 and face a tough fixture on Saturday at home to leaders La Rochelle.
