Scotland have replaced injuried Nikki Walker with Dan Parks and switched Chris Paterson to the left wing for Saturday's Six Nations clash with Italy in Rome.

Walker was ruled out of Scotland's plans last night due to an injury to his right ankle, and Frank Hadden decided not to rush into a decision on who would be his replacement.

The coach eventually opted to move Paterson, who was due to start at fly-half, to the wing, allowing Parks to come in at number 10.

Andrew Henderson replaces Parks on the bench.

“It's somewhat typical of the ill-luck we've had with injuries since the World Cup that we've lost Nikki Walker for our final match of the championship,” said Hadden.

“But we've made the changes with a view to giving us the best possible chance of victory on Saturday.”
