Owen Farrell free to face New Zealand

England fly-half Owen Farrell has avoided a citing for his tackle against South Africa and is free to take on the All Blacks this coming Saturday.

There has been debate over whether Farrell’s tackle on centre André Esterhuizen constituted a penalty but World Rugby have backed the on-field call.

Meanwhile, England head coach Eddie Jones has called up 35 players to kick off preparations for their next international match against New Zealand.

Harlequins centre Joe Marchant will join up with the squad for the first time this series.

Tom Curry (Sale Sharks) will be assessed further on an ankle injury he sustained during England’s win over South Africa on Saturday.

England sealed a 12-11 victory over the Boks at the weekend in their first Test of November.
