O’Shea lauds Italy’s heart

Italy coach Connor O’Shea praised his player’s attitude towards the game despite their loss to England.

The Azzurri lost 36-15 to England on Sunday, with a final score that doesn’t reflect how tight a game it was with Italy ahead at half-time, 10-5.

O’Shea lauded his player’s efforts after the match.

“I was really proud of our performance today, we’ve made 90 percent of our tackles and 88 percent in the first two games, there’s no problem with our heart but I know we’ve been having system errors. This isn’t something we came up with over night,” O’Shea told reporters at Twickenham.

“We came here to play, we attacked off scrums we kicked into the corners. We’re gutted to lose by that score, we lost.

“You’re going to see us fight and do things differently and we’re going to have bad days and we know that. But we’re going to do things differently and we’re going to fight.

“We lost, so there’s no satisfaction. The satisfaction is to see players play with their heart and with their mind.

“I loved it, I loved today. I’ve enjoyed the week because I enjoyed the planning.”
