On this day: Springboks win World Cup

On this day in 2007 South Africa lifted the Rugby World Cup for the second time, beating England 15-6 in a low-scoring final in Paris.

Percy Montgomery knocked over 12 of their points while a young Frans Steyn slotted their other penalty as the Boks held on to be victorious.

England came close to a Mark Cueto score but in the end could only muster two Jonny Wilkinson penalties as back-to-back titles wasn't to be.
