Canterbury utility back Tom Taylor is expected to be sidelined for only a couple of weeks due to an eye injury.

The All Black was forced off the field after fracturing his eye socket during the second half of Canterbury's 48-9 victory against Auckland in Christchurch last weekend.

The injury will not require any surgery.
