Your Views: Hands at the ruck

Editor

Friday’s inbox is all about the ruck and that old favourite – what to do with your hands?

Keep those thoughts coming to readersviews@planetrugby.com to make the next edition.

“Sorry sir, I felt very unstable…”

One area that never fails to amaze me in terms of differing ref’s interpretation is “hands on the floor at the ruck”.

Either it’s a penalty offence or it’s not for a defender to put his hands on the floor before playing for the ball at a ruck, some ref’s will call “just stabilising himself”!!

Well I’m sorry, if a player rushes in and places his hands on the floor on the opponents side of the ruck he’s already committed the offence.

I’d love to hear other people’s opinions.
