World Cup winner’s son named in England squad as Steve Borthwick calls on 16 uncapped players

Charlie Bracken has been named in an England training squad by Steve Borthwick.
England head coach Steve Borthwick has named a 36-player squad for a training camp at the team’s Honda England Rugby Performance Centre at Pennyhill Park.
The squad does not include players selected for the British and Irish Lions, nor players from Bath and Leicester Tigers, who are preparing for this Saturday’s Premiership final.
The four-day camp forms part of preparations for the upcoming England XV and France XV fixture at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham on Saturday, June 21 (kick-off 15:15 BST).
Summer Test squad to be confirmed
England confirmed the touring squad for the summer Tests against Argentina and USA will be announced on Monday, June 23 when Bath and Leicester players are available.
Borthwick‘s squad for the camp includes a whopping 16 uncapped players as the likes of George Kloska, Tom Lockett, Rekeiti Ma’asi-White and Charlie Bracken are named.
Bracken is the son of legendary former England scrum-half, Kyran, who won over 50 caps in his international career, culminating in a Rugby World Cup triumph in 2003.
Established regulars include the likes of Fraser Dingwall, George Ford, Henry Slade and Chandler Cunningham-South but there’s very much a chance for youth to impress.
Beaten Premiership semi-finalists from Sale Sharks and Bristol include flank Ben Curry, prop Bevan Rodd, hooker Gabriel Oghre, full-back Joe Carpenter, scrum-half Raffi Quirke, wing Tom Roebuck and the aforementioned Kloska, Ford and Ma’asi White.
George Furbank continues his rehabilitation from injury with the squad while Joe Batley, Ollie Lawrence, Alex Lozowski, George Martin and Harry Randall are currently injured.
