Stade Francais and Fiji flyer Peniasi Dakuwaqa has scored one of the greatest solo tries you will ever see, and that’s not hyperbole.

The winger has set social media alight with his outrageous score against Racing 92 in the Top 14, which started from behind his own try line.

He scooped up a loose ball with his momentum in the running back, taking him behind of own try line, and quickly set off on the counterattack.

He sped past the first attempted tackle and looked up before putting in a deftly placed kick over the top, narrowly missing a player receiving treatment – much like Lionel Messi recently did for Inter Miami recently.

Lionel Messi has invented an unholy new skill – violating injured players on the deck.

Dakuwaqa regathered the ball with the softest of touches, with his left hand guiding it into his right before brutally fending off the next Racing 92 defender and speeding away to finish off his mind-blowing score, putting the finishing touches by getting an easier angle for his kicker.

Reaction as Dakuwaqa goes viral

Several videos of the try have been circulating on social media, leaving fans in utter awe of his brilliance.

“Try of the year!! And next year!” One comment read on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

Rian Louw noted: “Chipped the injured bloke like Messi.”

Another joked: “Messi: Chips injured player. Peniasi Dakuwaqa: Hold My Beer!”

“This might possibly be greatest individual try of all time! DAKUWAKA! Incredible…” @Rugbyinsideline added.

Dakuwaqa’s Stade Francais’ teammate Brad Weber also weighed in on social media.

The ex-All Blacks and Chiefs scrum-half has been involved and scored his fair share of blinders but hadn’t seen a better solo try than his Stade Francais teammate.

“Seen a fair few tries in my time. But I’ve never seen a better individual try than this one. Absolute pleasure watching Flash do this live. “He make fast people look… not fast,” Weber wrote.

Weber was on the pitch for the score and recounted: “When Flash picked this up, @ZackHenry1 was yelling “Go with him, Brad”, and I tried and genuinely didn’t even make it to halfway.”

Stade Francais win Parisian Derby

This was the Fijian’s second score of the match, having dotted down in the ninth minute of the Parisian derby.

That was followed up by score by Zach Henry as Stade Francais led 3-17 at half-time.

Henry Arundell would get a try back for Racing in the second half, but that was not enough, as Dakuwaqa’s score sealed the 11-27 victory for the men in pink.
