South Africa’s famous schoolboy competition, Craven Week, is currently underway at Hoërskool Monument in Krugersdorp, and one youngster has fans salivating.

The famous annual tournament, named after ex-Springbok captain and coach Danie Craven, sees the best and brightest schoolboy talents face off over five days.

Remember the name: Alzeadon Felix

The action draws crowds as fans and scouts get a look at the next generation of stars coming through the ranks and this year Free State Cheetahs fly-half Alzeadon Felix has claimed much of the hype.

Schoolboy talents don’t always crack the top level, but there are always exceptions, with the likes of Jan Serfontein and Handre Pollard being notable youth stars who made their international debuts early in their careers.

Felix could follow in their footsteps after stealing the show with his breathtaking performances at Craven Week, flaunting his pace and flair.

A student at the famous Grey College, which has produced 46 Springboks, the second most behind Paul Roos, Felix produced back-to-back Player of the of the Match performances for the Cheetahs.

He dazzled with his footwork and pace in their first win over the Griffons as the Cheetahs racked up a 57-36 victory, with the fly-half playing a crucial role in many of their tries.

He backed that up against the Bulls as the Cheetahs marched to another impressive 34-27 win and will now face off against Western Province in the final game of the competition on June 29.

Felix’s performances have been praised on social media with onlookers already predicting a bright future for the schoolboy star.

“So nice he did it twice, Alzeadon Felix Man of the match performance vs. Blue Bulls Craven Week 2024. Special special player,” MB5Plug wrote in reaction to his second performance.

A-P Cronje captioned a highlights clip of his performance against the Griffons, saying “Alzeadon Felix is basically a sorcerer”.

Another fan boldly added: “I watched Alzeadon Felix last year live, against Paul Roos and I knew right there that we have a baller boy is a Dan Carter in local schools rugby trust me.”
