Super Rugby Pacific: Blues star Jacob Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens scores

Blues star Jacob Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens scored with the most outrageous aerial finish in his team’s 30-17 victory over the Western Force.

The hosts were threatening the Force’s line for a fair period before All Black Stephen Perofeta dropped the ball on his boot for a cross-kick.

The kick initially looked too long before Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens rose up in the sky, beating the Force defender in the air and SOMEHOW managed to get the ball down.

Even the speedster was unsure whether he had managed to score the try, but the replay showed enough for the five-pointer to be given!

Perofeta drew first blood in the clash with two penalties in the fourth and 25th minute before setting up Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens for his sensational score.

The aerial try was followed soon after by Ofa Tu’ungafasi crashing over in the 31st minute, with Perofeta adding the extras. However, the visitors responded just three minutes later through a Michael Wells try.

There would be no further addition to the scoreline until half-time before Mark Telea crossed in the 47th minute. Force’s Toni Pulu showed his finishing ability in the corner, scoring nine minutes later.

Blues hooker Ricky Riccitelli would get in on the try-scoring action at the hour mark, with Perofeta converting. It would be the Western Australians to add the last points through a converted Zach Kibirige try.

It was not a runaway scoreline, as some may have guessed, but the Blues came away with a handy home victory regardless.
