Soyaux-Angouleme director of rugby Fabrice Landreau celebrated key win.

Move over Scott Robertson, there is a new breakdancing coach in town. Soyaux-Angouleme director of rugby Fabrice Landreau showed off his moves over the weekend.

Landreau was in celebratory mood as his team secured Pro D2 safety with a 16-15 triumph against Nevers at Stade Chanzy that gives them breathing space from the drop.

Victory has seen Angouleme shoot up to 10th position in the standings with just two rounds remaining, with US Montauban and Rouen Normandie in 15th and 16th spot.

Pro D2 safety

It’s now mathematically impossible for Angouleme to be relegated and boss Landreau, as well as the players and staff, were clearly thrilled to be safe for another campaign.

Footage has emerged on X from the changing room after the win of the director of rugby shirtless in jeans showing off his dance moves to the delight of the watching squad.

The breakdancing is reminiscent of former Crusaders head coach Robertson’s customary routine that he brought out after his ex-side’s many Super Rugby title triumphs.

It will be interesting to see if Robertson pulls out his moves if the All Blacks win the Rugby Championship this year or he becomes a more reserved figure at Test level.

That remains to be seen and he might save his routine for the ultimate prize, the Rugby World Cup, in 2027 as New Zealand look to wrestle the title from the Springboks.

Landreau delight

Landreau, who played for Angouleme, Grenoble, Neath, Bristol, Racing and Stade Français in his career, has also coached at Stade Francais, Grenoble and RC Toulon.

The 55-year-old was capped four times by France with his first appearance coming against the Wallabies in November 2000 while he was playing for Stade Francais.

During his playing days in Paris he featured in two Top 14 finals but unfortunately lost both. Landreau had better luck as an assistant coach there in 2009, however.
