Luc Smith caught the eye with a spectacular try for Rosslyn Park against Cinderford.

England and Harlequins fly-half Marcus Smith’s younger brother, Luc, showed his class as he scored a spectacular try during a club match last weekend.

Smith, who was in action for Rosslyn Park in a National League One home game against Cinderford, left his stamp on the match early in the second half with a moment of magic.

He ran onto a pass from his fly-half inside his 22 and had plenty of work to do as there were several Cinderford players closing in on him.

However, Smith bamboozled his opponents with dazzling footwork and although he briefly lost his balance, after one of them ankle tapped him, the full-back was soon in the clear.

He turned on the afterburners to outpace the cover defence before one of his team-mates gave him a gentle shove over the try-line, out wide in the left-hand corner.

Smith’s try-scoring heroics was part of a dominant performance from Rosslyn Park as they cruised to a an emphatic 42-29 bonus-point victory over their visitors.

Afterwards, video footage of the younger Smith’s superb try went viral and it drew comparisons with his older brother’s exploits for Quins in the Premiership and England at Test level.

Luc Smith also walked off with the official player of the match award.
