Hurricanes flyer Kini Naholo caught the eye with a superb offload in the build-up to a try in his side’s 59-0 win over Moana Pasifika in their Super Rugby Pacfic clash in Auckland on Saturday.

The Hurricanes were out for revenge after suffering a 24-19 loss to Moana in last year’s corresponding fixture at the same venue and showed no mercy this time around as they ran in nine tries.

The rout started in the eighth minute when the Hurricanes were on the attack deep inside Moana’s 22.

Brett Cameron found Naholo with a long pass but the wing was under pressure as William Havili tackled him close to the touchline. Despite that hit, Naholo did brilliantly to get an offload out to Josh Moorby, who cantered in for the opening try.

Cameron added the extras and the Hurricanes continued to dominate during the rest of the half with the fly-half and his halfback partner Cam Roigard also dotting down as the teams changed sides with the Hurricanes holding a 19-0 lead.

The home side put up better fight during the early stages of the second half but despite being more competitive, they could not narrow the gap. Things went pear-shaped for Moana as the second half progressed and more tries followed with Naholo and Salesi Rayasi (2) crossing for converted five-pointers which gave them a 40-0 led by the 67th minute.

Despite having the game in the bag, the visitors did not take their foot of the pedal and hammered home their dominance with further tries from Ardie Savea, Hame Faiva, and Peter Lakai which sealed their emphatic victory.
