WATCH: Eddie Jones furiously reacts to Wallabies’ ill-discipline
Wallabies head coach Eddie Jones in the coaching box during the Rugby Championship clash against Argentina.
Wallabies boss Eddie Jones lost his cool in the coaching box as his side went down to back-to-back Rugby Championship defeats, losing 34-31 to Argentina.
Australia looked on track to bounce back from their Round One defeat to the Springboks when Mark Nawaqanitawase grabbed a breakaway intercept try in the 75th minute.
That score edged the Wallabies ahead, leading 31-27 after Quade Cooper’s conversion with four minutes left to play.
Argentina leave it late
However, a high tackle from Cooper gifted Michael Cheika’s Los Pumas side a route back into the game, and they duly set up an attacking lineout.
From the resulting lineout, the Pumas’ pack went to work and edged towards the line before star back-rower Juan Martin Gonzalez scored the match-winning try.
However, the incident that really got under Jones’ skin occurred in the 65th minute when tempers boiled over between the two sides.
Marika Koroibete and Nic White launched a threatening counter-attack, with the attack stopped due to a knock-on.
There was a bit of extras and handbags after the whistle, with Matias Moroni winding up Tom Wright before Rob Valetini stepped in, pushing Moroni to the floor.
After a review from TMO Marius Jonker, Jaco Peyper reversed what would have been a penalty for Australia and awarded one to Argentina.
Jones was seen ripping his headphones off and slamming them into the table in front of him.

At the time, Argentina led 20-17, and they would score soon after, thanks to a brilliant run by Newcastle Falcons flyer Mateo Carreras to extend their lead to 27-17.
Samu Kerevi’s try with nine minutes left to play came before the chaotic finish leading to Argentina’s victory.
Post-match reaction from Eddie Jones
After the match, Jones spoke of his side’s disappointment in the defeat, stating they have a few things to fix.
“We’re all really disappointed, mate. We put a lot into that,” said Wallabies head coach Jones.
“We just couldn’t put enough pressure on the opposition. Every time we got in position to put pressure, we either gave the ball back or didn’t defend hard enough.
“So there’s a couple of things we need to fix, which we can fix with a lot of hard work. And if we’re prepared to do the hard work, we will get the fix. I’m sure the players will.”
