WATCH: Danny Care’s hilarious reaction to Marcus Smith receiving award
Danny Care reacts to Harlequins team-mate Marcus Smith being named player of the match.
England scrum-half Danny Care provided a hilarious on-screen reaction to Harlequins team-mate Marcus Smith being awarded the player of the match award on Saturday.
Smith was in sparkling form as he helped steer Quins to an impressive Premiership victory over Gloucester at Twickenham in front of 76,813 supporters for Big Game 15.
The international fly-half was full of energy as he led his side around the field, with the Cherry and Whites struggling to live with the Harlequin’s running and kicking skill-set.
Funny reaction
It was widely expected that the 24-year-old England star would claim the player of the match prize from broadcaster TNT Sports and the inevitable happened late in the tie.
By that point half-back partner Care had been replaced and was sitting on the bench with his Harlequins team-mates and couldn’t resist an over-the-top reaction to the call.
“Again?!” Care appeared to mouth as he raised his hands and shrugged his shoulders with a smile, with those alongside him joining in with the fun and games as one booed.
We can't get enough of Danny Care's reaction to finding out Marcus Smith was named Player of the Game 🤣

Care, who turned 37 today, will hope to start alongside Smith for England next month when they kick off their Six Nations campaign against Italy on the road on February 3.
It remains to be seen whether Smith will feature as a fly-half or full-back next month, with England head coach Steve Borthwick having used him at 15 in the World Cup.
Smith’s running game was there for all to see on Saturday and this try assist for wing Nick David was just one of several bright moments from the Harlequins playmaker.

Owen Farrell’s absence from the international game this year means it could well be a straight shoot-out between Smith and Sale’s George Ford for the number 10 jersey.
The Harlequins star seemed to relish being at the home of English rugby on Saturday and it wasn’t just his running game that stood out, with this 50-22 a piece of brilliance.

As mentioned, England kick off against the Azzurri before facing Wales at Twickenham. They then travel to Scotland, host Ireland and end with a trip to France in a tough run-in.
