Quite possibly the most ridiculous thing we have seen during this Rugby World Cup does not come from on-field action but a snippet into the England camp.

Front-row Dan Cole put together an outrageous impression of WWE wrestler ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin whose trademark was to bash two beers together viciously – spilling most of it everywhere – and then pour the remaining quantities down his throat.

Top performance

Cole enters the room, wearing a typical wrestling costume and strides with purpose before climbing on a chair and raising two bottles of water to the sky. In a well-worked impression, he smashes the bottles together and pours some down his body.

With howling laughter from his teammates filling the room, the front-row was not done yet as he found a box to stand on to rinse and repeat. Cole hops off the box and strides out of the room to uncontrollable laughter.

Good energy in camp

The vibes are clearly very high in the England camp after the team secured two wins from their opening two matches in the World Cup against Argentina and Japan.

That puts Steve Borthwick’s side in a strong position to advance to the quarter-finals. Captain Owen Farrell is set to make his return to action after being banned for a dangerous tackle and reports suggest he will start in the side’s first-ever clash with Chile.

Following that encounter the Red Rose will have one last assignment in the pool stage against Samoa.
