Check out this brilliant individual try from Toulon scrumhalf Baptiste Serin in the Challenge Cup final against Glasgow Warriors in Dublin.

Toulon scrum-half Baptiste Serin scored a fantastic try in the opening minutes of the Challenge Cup final against Glasgow Warriors.

In the first five minutes of the match, Toulon were on the attack just outside the Glasgow 22.

Serin’s brilliance

Serin picked the ball up from the back of the ruck and looked for options, but with his teammates offering little of a threat, he grubbered past the Glasgow defence.

He managed to regather the ball and sped towards the try-line, with Ollie Smith closing in on him.

The scrum-half managed to cross the line, and although there were doubts over whether he got the ball down, referee Wayne Barnes was happy to award the try with his TMO checking the score in the background.

Serin converted his own score to give Toulon a 7-0 lead in their fifth Challenge Cup final.

While the French outfit has won three Champions Cups, they have failed to lift the Challenge Cup trophy.

Serin’s score did give Toulon the edge early on, but they were dealt a cruel blow with fly-half Dan Biggar forced off the pitch with the HIA shortly before the opening try.

Playing in his last European fixture, Italy legend Sergio Parisse further extended Toulon’s lead before the 20th minute.

He caught a fantastic pass from Serin as he powered over the line from close range as Toulon went 14-0 up.

We caught up with Parisse ahead of the final where he spoke about enjoying the clash in Dublin.

“I want to enjoy it as much as I can – remember those sights, sounds and smells of a packed Dublin and take those with me. You know, to play as a 39-year-old in a European final is massive and I never ever expected my career to be continuing at this age,” Parisse said.
