Wasps appeal against Hughes ban

Date published: April 2 2015

Wasps have confirmed that the club will appeal against the three-week ban (to include three meaningful fixtures) given to number eight Nathan Hughes at an RFU disciplinary hearing on Tuesday.
The club plan to appeal on the grounds that it was an accident and no foul play occurred.

Wasps have informed the RFU of their decision and the hearing will be on Friday next week.

The club added: "Unfortunately, we are not in a position to comment further until the result of the appeal hearing has been received."

Hughes collided with Northampton winger George North, resulting in the Wales star suffering another concussion. North is to now take a month out of rugby in order to recover.
