Wales up to third in world rankings

Wales have moved up to third in the world rankings following their impressive June series, which saw them claim wins over South Africa and Argentina.

Warren Gatland’s men defeated the Springboks 22-20 at the start of the month before they completed a 2-0 series victory over the Pumas.

Their dominant 30-12 success against Daniel Hourcade’s outfit, combined with losses for Australia and England, means that they have risen above those two in the rankings.

South Africa also climbed two places after overcoming the Red Rose 23-12 while Scotland have fallen to seventh because of their shock 30-29 defeat to the USA.

Despite that win, the Eagles remain in 15th but close the gap on Tonga and Italy immediately above them.
