Wales are set to meet the International Rugby Board following the performance of referee Romain Poite in their defeat to South Africa.

Wales are set to meet the International Rugby Board (IRB) to talk over the performance of referee Romain Poite in their 38-16 defeat to South Africa.

The scrum is the area the Welsh are looking to meet with IRB referees' boss Joel Jutge over as they again fell victim to Poite at that set-piece.

“We are seeking a bit more clarification on the scrum from Joel Jutge, who I will meet again this week,” assistant coach Robin McBryde told Sky Sports, with that area also penalised against England earlier in the year during the Six Nations.

“I don't want to be too critical because there are a lot of things for referees to look at. It's the specifics of the technical aspects of the scrum.

“There are a couple of times when we've been penalised and we want to make sure we're seeing the same things as the referee.

“We met Romain before the game and still those decisions went against us. We just need to clarify things.”
