Wales hammer Japan

Date published: June 10 2015

Elis-Wyn Benham scored two tries as Wales cruised to a 66-3 win over Japan in their final game of Pool A.

The Welsh ran in ten tries in total, as they proved too strong for their opponents, who fell off far too many first-up tackles.

Jarrad Evans, who also slotted five conversions, got them started before Benham showed his pace to sprint over down the right.

Tom Phillips powered over for the third with Benham completing his brace and securing the bonus point.

Josh Adams went over for the fifth on the stroke of half-time as Wales led 33-3 at the break.

They started the second half quickly tries from Adam Beard and Dafydd Howells to push the score out to 45 points, before Liam Belcher crossed to seal the half-century.

There was still time for two more, from Seb Davies and Adams, while Japan couldn't find a way through despite late pressure.
