Blues lock Patrick Tuipulotu is satisfied with the level of his recovery, after undergoing double hip surgery in 2015.
Given his lack of mobility during the early stages of his recovery, Tuipulotu is pleased with the manner in which he has managed to shed the weight that he put on during that period.
"I put on about 8kg," he told the New Zealand Herald.
"That's gone off quite quickly – quicker than I thought."
The All Black was a part of the Blues team that played against the Rebels on Thursday and he is satisfied with the contribution that he was able to make in his side's 59-7 victory.
"I'm getting there," added Tuipulotu.
"I'm probably 10 percent off where I should be. It's good considering the shape I was in coming into pre-season. There has been good progress made, especially with the hips in terms of running.
"It's comfortable striding out."
