Trimble boost for Ulster

Ulster are set to be boosted by the return from injury of Andrew Trimble for Friday’s PRO12 match against Cardiff Blues at Kingspan Stadium.

The Ireland international has been sidelined for a month after surgery on his hand and will be a welcome inclusion for the season run-in.

In other fitness news from Ulster’s camp, Marcell Coetzee’s knee injury isn’t as bad as first feared and he should return ahead of 2017/18.

Tighthead prop Wiehahn Herbst and scrum-half Ruan Pienaar seem likely to play this week but lock Pete Browne is out for four weeks.

Meanwhile, wing Louis Ludik and centre Stuart McCloskey, who played for Ulster A last week, are also in good health ahead of Friday.
