Treviso have announced that powerful back-row forward Robert Barbieri will rejoin the Italian outfit next season, leaving Premiership side Leicester.

He is the second new signing for the PRO12 club ahead of 2015/2016 after the announcement that Samoan lock Filo Paulo will join them from Cardiff Blues.

Barbieri, Toronto born, made his Test debut for Italy against Japan in Tokyo in June 2006 and will add a great deal to the Treviso forwards next season.

"I'm very happy to come back to Treviso and to have the opportunity to wear the shirt of Benetton again, who I played for most of my career in Italy," he said.

"This year abroad has helped me to mature and I hope to have grown as a player and to be able to bring this experience to the team and do something special together."
