Thomas Ramos for Toulouse v the Sharks champions cup

Following a 54-20 triumph over the Sharks in their Champions Cup fixture at the Stade Ernest-Wallon on Saturday, here are the player ratings for Toulouse.

15 Thomas Ramos: Right from the start, he was on it and confident with an audacious kick-pass on his own line. Continued in that fashion to complete a magnificent display with two tries, three penalties and five conversions for a 29-point haul. 9

14 Juan Cruz Mallia: Received a yellow card early on but otherwise did well, scoring a couple of tries with very good finishes. 7

13 Pierre-Louis Barassi: Defended well generally, although the brilliant attacking touches were left to others. 6

12 Pita Ahki: Grew into the game and showed a few classy touches, including for Mallia’s second try. 6

11 Matthis Lebel: Was prominent early on, making a few searing breaks, but was quieter in the second period. 7

10 Romain Ntamack: Is very much back to his best after a stuttering start to the Six Nations. His try was utterly sublime. 8

9 Antoine Dupont (c): Yeah… he was just Dupont. 8

A stunning showing from Thibaud Flament

8 Francois Cros: Not too many harder workers in the game; Cros always makes himself a nuisance at the breakdown. 6

7 Thibaud Flament: Absolutely superb. Carrying, tackling, lineout work, taking high balls, he was everywhere. 9

6 Jack Willis: A fairly quiet game from the Englishman, who didn’t have the usual influence at the breakdown. 6

5 Emmanuel Meafou: A big man who, more often than not, makes a big impact as he dominated pretty much every contact. 8

4 Richie Arnold: A solid shift from the Australian, who did his job in the set-piece. 6

3 Dorian Aldegheri: Gave Ox Nche some trouble in the scrum as the Toulouse set-piece took control. 7

2 Peato Mauvaka: A few lineout wobbles but made a good impact in the loose. 7

1 Cyril Baille: Another, like Ntamack, who has re-found his form and had several good moments in tight and loose. 7

Replacements: The magic in the latter stages came from the backs, which generally remained unchanged, but the forwards did well to set the platform. 7
