European champions Toulon are set to face the Super Rugby champions the Highlanders in Hong Kong next year.
According to L'Equipe talks have been going on for two months and have now reached a successful conclusion.
The fixture will be organised by SL Events and be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 – the same date as the first matches of next year's Six Nations between France and Italy along with Scotland and England.
The Highlanders defeated New Zealand rivals the Hurricanes to win Super Rugby for the first time, while Toulon made it three straight European crowns by seeing off the threat of Clermont at Twickenham.
Plans for a similar match between Toulon and the Chiefs and then Toulon and the Waratahs have fallen through in the past two years.
