Mourad Boudjellal is trying to sign prop Carl Hayman on a short-term contract as Toulon look to cope without their Rugby World Cup stars.
The triple European champions kicked off their season with a defeat at home to Racing 92, and now face tricky away games at Castres and Stade Français.
In addition to their large contingent of World Cup absentees, they have also had to cope with the arrest of tighthead Salesi Ma'afu, who will appear in court next month after an altercation in a car park.
As a result, Var Matin is reporting that Toulon boss Boudjellal is looking to bring back Hayman, who retired at the end of last season, on a short-term deal, while he continues his coaching qualifications.
Boudjellal has also revealed that he is hoping to bring in two supplementary players over the coming weeks.
