Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal has revealed that talks are underway to keep Mathieu Bastareaud at the club long-term.

The France international centre is out of contract at the end of the 2016 season.

Bastareaud, 26, has tasted great success with the European champions since making the move from Stade Français in 2011.

Toulon are now looking to sort out their contract renewals after their season came to an end with defeat to Bastareaud's old side in the Top 14 semi-finals on Friday.

"We will talk quietly with Mathieu (Bastareaud) about an extension. Of course, we think he'll stay," Boudjellal told La Provence.

Bastareaud has won 33 caps for France since making his Test debut in 2009.
