Clermont have announced the signing of Sitaleki Timani for next season, with Brock James leaving the club to join La Rochelle.
Timani, who was 18 caps for Australia, will join les Jaunards from Montpellier on a two-year deal, with the option of a third season.
"We've followed this player since he arrived in France. His profile fits perfectly with what we look for in this position," head coach Franck Azema said.
"He's a very solid player, able to make a big physical impact while having great qualities in the loose.
"He's been in France for two seasons and is now familiar with the requirements of the Top 14 and I'm sure he will fit perfectly into our side."
Meanwhile, veteran fly-half Brock James is moving on after a decade at the club, having joined Clermont back in 2006.
The 34-year-old Austrailan has signed a two-year contract with La Rochelle.
