The BONE CRUNCHING Tuilagi hit that has fans drooling over 150kg prospect

The Tuilagi name comes with plenty of fanfare, and the newest professional rugby player from the family is quickly realising that.

Posolo Tuilagi first started catching attention in 2022 after making his professional debut at the age of 18 for Perpignan.

He made headlines when he starred for France in the U20 Six Nations and World Rugby U20 Championship that same year, dominating the opposition despite most players being two years his senior.

The son of former Leicester Tigers and Samoa legend Henry Tuilagi and the nephew of England international Manu Tuilagi, Posolo certainly has a lot of pressure to live up to the Tuilagi name, but so far, he has delivered.

Posolo Tuilagi’s lands a massive hit

On Saturday, the 150kg lock impressed fans once again, landing a massive tackle in the Top 14 clash against Toulon.

Perpignan scrum-half Tom Ecochard hung up a box kick for Tuilagi to chase, and he duly obliged, tearing up the field towards Toulon full-back Aymeric Luc.

The youngster timed his run perfectly and landed a hammering tackle on the number 15.

The video of the tackle caught the eye on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, with fans quickly comparing Posolo to his father.

“WHAT. A. HIT! Posolo Tuilagi will become a star of the game. Reminiscent of Henry Tuilagi’s hit on Ben Foden,” Rugby Inside Line wrote in response to the video.

Mike Cooper added: “What impresses me most about this is that Posolo is really just cantering towards Luc. He then just explodes with violence with a perfectly timed & executed hit. Had the pleasure of seeing many Tuilagis live,& the power they generate from nowhere is pant-soilingly impressive.”

Another fan simply wrote, “Like father like son. This boy is going to be massive. Literally.”

Perpignan’s slow start

The rising star has quickly become a regular starter for Perpignan and continues to produce standout performances despite the club’s struggles this season.

Tuilagi has played all five of their matches so far this season and scored his first try of the season against Pau.

Against Toulon, he topped the tackle count, making 15 in total and managed to evade three defenders from his six carries.

His performance helped Perpignan secure their first win of the season after four straight defeats.

The 26-22 victory over Toulon also saw Springboks lock Marvin Orie make his debut for the side after forgoing the opportunity to return to South Africa for the Rugby World Cup trophy tour.
