Wasps have announced that Samoan winger Sailosi Tagicakibau has extended his contract to stay at the club next season.

Tagicakibau, who signed from London Irish last year, became a regular starter for Wasps, scoring four tries in 15 appearances, before a hamstring injury put him out of action for five weeks.

The Samoan flier is now back fit and firing and is delighted to have re-signed with Wasps.

“I’ve really enjoyed myself since arriving. I was fortunate to get a lot of game time early on, so it has been a relatively smooth process blending in," said Tagicakibau.

“It’s a great set of boys here at Wasps, with a mix of talented youngsters and a few more experienced heads amongst us and it’s been good to see us starting to click in some of the games this season.

“I’m really enjoying learning from the coaching team of Dai Young, Stephen Jones and Brad Davis. I’ve also been impressed by the calibre of new signings the Club is bringing in next season and am really excited to be part of the Wasps set-up going forwards.

“The move to the Ricoh Arena, playing in front of some big crowds, has also been an exciting experience for the boys and I’m looking forward to carrying on playing in that arena.”

Tagicakibau joins a long list of players who have extended their contracts with Wasps including: Josh Bassett, Chris Bell, James Cannon, Carlo Festuccia, James Haskell, Ruaridh Jackson, Joe Launchbury, Simon McIntyre and Phil Swainston and director of rugby Dai Young.
