The pools for the Sydney Sevens were drawn ahead of the final of the Wellington leg on Sunday.

The fourth round of the World Rugby Sevens Series, to be played on 6-7 February, will see Wellington-winners New Zealand face hosts Australia, Portugal, and Canada in Pool A, while runners-up South Africa are the top seeds in Pool B and will meet Kenya, Scotland, and Russia.

Possibly the toughest group, Pool C hosts Fiji, Argentina, Samoa, and France, with England, USA, Japan, and Wales squaring off in Pool D.

Looking ahead to Sydney next week following their 24-21 victory over South Africa in Wellington, New Zealand captain Tim Mikkelson said: "We've only been together a week so it's pretty good what the boys put together this weekend. We'll keep on working on things and hopefully we can get a little bit better in Sydney."
