Suspensions for Leota, Mulipola

Sale Sharks centre Johnny Leota and Leicester prop Logvoi'i Mulipola have both been suspended following citings from last weekend.

The charge against Leota of Sale Sharks for kicking, contrary to law 10.4(c) was heard on Tuesday. The player pleaded guilty.

Leota was given a red card by referee Dean Richards in the second half of the Premiership match between Sale Sharks and Wasps last weekend.

The Sharks centre was sent from the field after he kicked out at Wasps’ Tom Bristow in retaliation to having his head pushed into the ground. Bristow was shown a yellow card by Richards for his role in the incident.

Leota was given a two-week suspension. He is free to play again on April 4.

The charge against Mulipola of Leicester Tigers for dangerous tackling, contrary to law 10.4(e) was also heard last night. The player pleaded guilty.

Mulipola was yellow carded by referee JP Doyle following a dangerous tackle on Saracens centre Marcelo Bosch in the first half of the Premiership match between Tigers and Saracens. The Tigers prop was later cited for the incident.

Mulipola was given a one-week suspension and he is free to play again on March 28.
