Surgery setback for England duo

England have announced that Nathan Hughes and Courtney Lawes will both undergo knee ligament surgery following injuries sustained in Paris.

Wasps number eight Hughes is expected to be out for 12 weeks while Northampton Saints flanker Lawes will require 14 weeks of rehabilitation.

England play their final game of the 2018 tournament against Ireland at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday.

Head coach Eddie Jones will name his side to play Ireland on Thursday.
