Sunday Social: Twickenham turmoil, historic win in Fiji and a prop’s try

Sunday Social: England

It is time for Planet Rugby’s Sunday Social, your quirky recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the past week’s action.

England players suffering and struggling to walk up the stairs after leg day. It seems like this was on the morning of the Twickenham disaster, considering how slowly the defensive line set against France.

Just a sneaky bit of banter from the team amidst the Gary Lineker saga. But really, where was England in their record loss at Twickenham?

Antoine Dupont was pretty much perfect against England, and just when one thinks he cannot do more, he rips this absolute beauty of a social media post. Genuinely what can’t he do?

Dupont is truly ridiculous. That’s it.

Just look at how much it means to Fabien Galthie!! The French coach breaks down in tears following the record win, a genuine moment of emotion from the masterful tactician.

A lovely detailed analysis of France’s last try to rub further salt in the wound. It is worth noting that the side scored this with a few minutes to play and a massive lead. Brilliant discipline and meticulous attention to detail from Les Bleus.

France star Gregory Alldritt grabbed more plaudits than deserved as commentators mismatched him and teammate Francois Cros! The black headgear and both of them playing tremendously well doesn’t help!

Cringe warning! Welsh players took to some dad jokes during their preparation for the Italy Test this week. Possibly more effective preparation than leg day but painful for the ears. Don’t worry, we did chuckle too.

The Fijian Drua created history in Lautoka with their first win over the Crusaders. Again Super Rugby Pacific showed off its cultural richness as the two teams huddled together in song over the love of the game.

An immediate classic this image is. Lovely scenes as one young fan help another to get a glimpse of the historic action unfolding. Fiji once again shows its tremendous value through kindness and enjoyment.

Ardie Savea watched from the stands this week after being suspended for a slit-throat gesture. Have a go at that retro kit, though. Bring it back, indeed!

Hang in it in the Louvre! Props everywhere are smiling from ear to ear. This fella has absolute gas, very very impressive. Give him the 11 shirt. Another Nemani Nadolo in training?
