Over in Pretoria it was a terrible day for the Stormers as they went down 40-3 to rivals the Bulls. This off-field image was a nice touch though.

One former Super Rugby head coach, Chris Boyd, who is now in charge of Northampton Saints, watched his side run in nine tries against Sale.

But perhaps this biggest result of the weekend in terms of its significance was in Montpellier, where Perpignan ended a streak of 21 defeats.
