It is time for Planet Rugby’s Sunday Social, your quirky recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the past week’s action.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup is upon us with the best teams across the globe descending on Australia and New Zealand for the competition. Here, the Wallabies give their side best wishes ahead of their home tournament.

Siya Kolisi and Ox Nche wished African champions Banyana Banyana the best for the tournament down under. It is fitting coming from Kolisi, who has proven to be an avid supporter of women’s sports in the country whether it be cricket, netball or now football.

It is Open Championship week on the golfing calendar and the United Rugby Championship offered a selection of their best golfing stars. The Irishmen clearly know how to operate in the sand whilst Stormers star Damian Willemse is always dangerous through the middle. Still, our choice to head to the Open would be Josh ‘I am good at everything’ van der Flier.

The further down the thread you read the better it gets! Top stuff from Squidge Rugby as he takes a look at what the Rugby World Cup captains would pick from the trending dual release of Oppenheimer and Barbie in cinemas.

Eddie Jones was not having it! The veteran coach underlined clearly that the England cricket team’s resilience to show some form of a comeback does not inspire him in the slightest.

Just three of the greatest Wallabies lacing up for yet another game together. Brilliant stuff from Matt Giteau, Adam Ashley-Cooper and Drew Mitchell who played in the Win the Day Charity match! As they say down under, ‘Good on ya!’

A couple of legends with the next generation pushing through. Just the two Rugby World Cups in this picture. Will that change when Schalk Burger’s, Butch James’ and Brent Russell’s kids reach their maturity?

Welshman Dewi Lake drops some absolute gold in this one as he asks what is transcribed on the collar of Wales’ new primary strip. Of course, it’s the national anthem. The look on his face is priceless, to say the least.

Juan Martin Gonzalez loves a Test try and already in his short career he has scored some against the biggest teams in the world. Including the dagger to the Wallabies’ hearts in round two of the Rugby Championship!

BAKSAN IS BACK!!! The legendary superfan from the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, who went viral for painting kits onto his body, was back in the colours of Samoa as the Pacific Island side edged to a narrow 24-22 win over Japan in the Pacific Nations Cup.
