Springboks have landed in Argentina after ‘long journey’ as team announcement update given
Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu will feature for the Springboks against Argentina.
South Africa have landed in Argentina ahead of their match with Los Pumas as they begin their final preparations for the game at Estadio José Amalfitani, Buenos Aires.
The Springboks squad was divided into two travelling parties and it has been confirmed that they touched down in the early hours of Sunday morning (South American time).
The two groups flew from South Africa to Buenos Aires via São Paulo in Brazil and arrived at the squad’s hotel in Argentina within one hour of one another after midnight.
Recovery time
It’s been revealed that the players will have a day off to rest and recover from the journey, allowing them sufficient time to acclimatise to the conditions and the time zone.
“It’s great to be back in Buenos Aires, and we’re looking forward to the challenge of facing the Pumas here once again,” explained Springboks head coach Rassie Erasmus.
“It was a long journey, and there is a fair time difference between the countries, so the players will have time to rest and acclimatise today, and then we’ll return to the training field tomorrow [Monday].

“Fortunately, we did most of the groundwork for the match at our training camp in Johannesburg earlier this week, so we have a good base to build on in the next few days.”
The players who stayed in South Africa to focus on the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry Tests with New Zealand, will reassemble later on Sunday and also resume training on Monday.
“We are on track in terms of our preparation for both this match and the New Zealand tour,” said Erasmus.
Team announcement
The Springboks also confirmed that Erasmus will consult with his coaching team later today (Sunday) before deciding when to announce his matchday squad to face Argentina.
In recent times Erasmus, who has taken a 26-player squad that includes Siya Kolisi and Eben Etzebeth to Argentina for this one-off Test, has opted for a Monday announcement.
This will be the world champions’ final international hit-out ahead of the Greatest Rivalry opener against the All Blacks on Saturday, August 22 at Ellis Park, Johannesburg.
