Springbok reportedly set to join Curwin Bosch in leaving the Sharks

The Sharks look set to bid farewell to two Springboks ahead of next season, according to reports.

Curwin Bosch has been linked with a move to France throughout this season, and he looks set to be joined by fellow Springbok Sikhumbuzo Notshe.

Earlier this season, Bosch was linked with a switch to Top 14 strugglers Montpellier with the move ultimately falling through.

However, the two-Test Springbok may well be heading to France with recent reports suggesting that he is close to finalising a deal with Pro D2 club Brive.

The ambitious Pro D2 side – owned by British billionaire Simon Gillham – have been busy on the recruitment market, signing England legend Courtney Lawes as well as Henzo Kiteau (Clermont), Samuel Maximin (Rouen), Hugo Verdu (Massy), Thoams Zenon (Nevers) and Ewran Dridi (Grenoble) ahead of next season.

South African newspaper Rapport backed up the rumours earlier in the week that Bosch would be heading to France but added that back-rower Notshe will join him in leaving the Durban-based franchise.

The loose forward has played just nine times for the Sharks this season, struggling with injuries while also falling down the pecking order under John Plumtree’s tutelage.

According to the report, he is attracting interest from his former employers, the Stormers, and could return to Cape Town to feature for Western Province in the Currie Cup.

The Stormers are looking at their back-row options with Hacjivah Dayimani set to join French club Racing 92 next season.

However, the report adds that Notshe would need to take a pay cut to return to Cape Town, which has him second-guessing the move.

Plumtree has already strengthened his loose forward options heading into the new season, with Emmanuel Tshituka set to join brother Vincent in making the move from the Lions to the Sharks.

The Challenge Cup champions also have Springboks Trevor Nyakane, Jason Jenkins and Andre Esterhuizen arriving to further boost the squad, as well as Lions playmaker Jordan Hendrikse.

Notshe and Bosch look set to join Le Roux Roets (Sale Sharks), Boeta Chamberlain (Bulls), and Werner Kok (Ulster) in making the move away from Durban.

Meanwhile, the likes of Joel Hintz (Western Force), Hyron Andrews (Sale Sharks) and Rohan Janse van Rensburg (Canon Eagles) left mid-season.
